*Competition Cards will be issued to Individual Members ONLY (one name on the membership) and Excess Liability Insurance is included with each Competition Card. When does the new membership structure go into effect? January 1, 2006 Will there be a late fee with the new membership? A Late fee of $10 will be applied when a membership is renewed after the last day of the month in which it expires. What are the new expiration dates for membership? A membership expires the following year on the last day of the month in which you joined. For example, if you join AHA on March 8, 2008, your membership expires March 30, 2009. How does the Competition Card work? Competition Cards will be issued to individual members ONLY. The Competition Card may be purchased at the same time as membership or later within your anniversary year; however, the competition card will expire at the same time as your membership. For example, if you become a member on January 5, 2008, and don't purchase a Competition Card until February 18, the Competition Card will expire on January 30, 2009 just like the membership card. You cannot purchase a Competition Card without a membership. Who will need to purchase a Competition Card? The AHA Competition Card is required for individual members (adult and youth) who compete, members who own horses that compete, and officials who officiate at recognized AHA events. This includes recognized shows, endurance and competitive trail rides. The competition card is also available to those who want to take advantage of the AHA Excess Personal Liability Insurance program this insurance benefit is available to only those individuals who hold an AHA competition card. Do I need a Competition Card to be a club officer or delegate? No, you need to pay your AHA dues to be an individual Adult Member and pay your local club dues. How many delegates will my club be able to send to Convention? Delegates for a club will be determined based on the number of paid AHA Adult Individual Members affiliated with that club whose dues have been received in the AHA office as of June 30th each year. For example, a member pays dues on July 15th that member will be counted toward the next years delegate count. |
